Wedding Weekend

This past weekend we were in Manhattan, KS, for Grant's brother's wedding. Blake and Brooke got married on Saturday! It was a cold May day, but the sun did come out a little. They were excited to be married, and we were glad to celebrate with them. Friday night, Grant's family hosted the rehearsal dinner at his sister Holly's house. They were hoping it could be outside but the weather did not cooperate. Luckily she has a big rec room area that is open in her basement, so we all fit in there.

Saturday morning all the siblings plus Uncle Tim (minus the bride) went to IHOP. It was really fun. Yummy, too. Then we got ready and headed over to the church. Vera was able to sneak in a couple shorter naps since she wasn't in her usual crib. We took a few family photos beforehand, and then the wedding was at 2. It was short and sweet, so after more photos we headed to the reception which was at the church too. Cupcakes and other delicious treats were had! Vera got to meet a lot of family and friends she hadn't met before. Her great great (?) uncle Brad was there who is great grandma Vera's brother. That was sweet to see, as she is named after his sister. :)

Vera spent a lot of her awake time laughing and smiling. She has also started talking a lot more. Someone pointed out that it is almost like she is singing because her talking is usually high pitched. If so, that might be because we sing to her a lot!
