Curious Girl

Vera is super curious lately. So curious that she's had three falls off of stairs in three days. Thankfully, Grant or I have been close for all of them. Two were at the park on small sets of stairs on a playground with soft ground. The last one, though, was a bit more rough. She fell off the second stair of a set of concrete stairs outside on our front porch onto a concrete sidewalk... head-first. Whew. That makes your heart skip a beat. Poor little girl is getting scraped up. That's the scary part of her curiosity.

Mommy and Vera - Vera was curious about the self-timer on the camera!

The fun part is that she is noticing so much in her environment for what seems to be the first time. She hears noises outside and turns to look and stares to try and figure out what is going on. She is starting to figure out how things work and wants to try. She has been working to buckle, get dressed, put on her shoes, "organize" things... It is so fun to see.

First picnic on the deck of the year.

Crawling through her "mess" of magnets.

We're beginning to teach her words. The doctor suggested she is at an age where she can begin to learn animal sounds. With that I assume we can start teaching her parts of her body - eyes, nose, mouth, belly, toes, etc. We'll do that gradually and see how fast she learns.

She is a ton of fun. I pray that she will always keep her sweet and content personality.
