Happy 1st Birthday, Vera!

Today, Vera is one! Our sweet little girl entered the world a year ago today. It is quite a day and seems very surreal.

 I love her so much! She is such a sweet, cute, happy little girl. My life changed drastically on the day she was born. It was really rough - her birth, learning to care for her, raising a child... and yet, we've made it. God has been faithful to us (once again - why do we ever doubt), and we have made it. When she was born, I was counting days by the hour. Now, I easily look forward to next week or even next month. I am thankful.

Thankful for Vera's sweet personality and calm temperament
Thankful for God's provision. He cares for us in ways that we don't even know to ask.

Vera is a blessing in my life. I pray for many more years with her.

Also in this time, it is a stark reminder that we've also lost this year. Greg isn't able to be with us now. He rushed to Kansas City when Vera was born. He loved her so much! He was a proud Grandpa. We miss him, once again, at this milestone.
