Fall-ing Leaves

We have a huge oak tree in our front yard. With a 100+ year old house, the trees have been here awhile. We feel a little bad about our big tree putting leaves in our neighbors' yards too. We know we "earned" the job of raking the leaves in our yard. We've raked a couple times now. This past Friday was really windy so we had a yard full. Our neighbor kids were fun and helpful. Friday afternoon they helped me pile some up for when Grant came home to bag them. (They also walked about 2 blocks with me to go pay for some car work I'd had done at a local shop!) Then today the youngest boy, Tae-Tae (sp?) helped Grant out a lot, as well as a couple other siblings who came and went. We also finished their pile they had made in their yard. Also, must say - Go CATS! Grant and I enjoyed watching the win over the Jayhawks. Here are some fun photos.

Tae-Tae was very helpful at times - he brought over a snow shovel and loved to push the leaves and then pick them up and throw them in the bag. Check out the spiderman slippers.

Grant picked him up and had him push down the leaves in the bag already. Also, when we opened a new bag, Tae-Tae put it over his head to open it up. It was the same height as him. Thought it would have been a good halloween costume idea.
