K-S-U Game!

On Saturday, we drove to Manhattan with the kids (and Grant's mom - which is another story). We went to see K-State play basketball against Iowa State. It was exciting to take the foster kids on a little road trip, as those kind of things aren't in their usual lifestyle. They hadn't ever been to a big sporting event, either, so the college basketball game was pretty exciting. Buzz loved dancing to the music, and Jesse enjoyed the atmosphere. Vera also enjoyed the game. She's quite a social kid, and then was even able to take a nap during the second half. K-State didn't win the game, but we still had fun. It counts as a good day if we actually made it to the game, got to stay for the whole game, and didn't regret going at any point!

Linda, Grant's mom, rode with us as she was in Kansas City quite a bit last week going to doctor appointments at KU Med. Grant's sister, Holly, helped out a lot and brought Linda to and from Manhattan last week. We were able to get her back to Holly's on Saturday, and she stayed there until Tuesday. Now she's back with us again. She's starting to feel better, though, and will probably go back to Scott City this weekend. 

As Grant said in his last post, yes, there is still life on Charlotte. Its been chaotic, challenging, included lots of driving, we've had some tears (mostly on my part), words of frustration... but we really see God in all of our time. Some moments it is easy to think "why am I doing this" or "why is this happening to me" (not only related to foster care), and yet overall we have been very encouraged by each other and good friends that God is with us and we can make it through this challenging time of our lives. We can even enjoy this time of our lives.
